Everton ready to meet the asking price of Rodri Sanchez

Everton are interested in signing Real Betis midfielder Rodri Sanchez, according to reports from Fichajes.

The report claims that the likes of Southampton and Brighton are also keen to sign the highly-rated 21-year-old midfielder.

It has been claimed that all the three aforementioned clubs are willing to meet the player’s asking price which stands at £20million (24m Euro).

The report, however, does not mention whether the Toffees (and others) are planning to sign him this January or next summer.

The youngster has made six appearances this season for Betis, scoring one goal. Betis would want the player to renew his contract, and it could very well be an agent-driven ploy to drag Premier League clubs into the picture to maximise his value.

Having operated on a stringent budget during the summer, Rafael Benitez is expected to be backed with funds going forward to bring in players of his choice.

Signing an attacking midfielder is a priority, and Sanchez would be a brilliant addition.

Michael Ball has suggested to Liverpool Echo that the Toffees should try to sign more young players with potential and nurture them into top-quality stars, something similar to what they did with Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Spain U-21 international broke into the senior team last year after breaking from the club’s academy and he has done well for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

He can play out wide and has shown the maturity to dictate play from central areas. He is a gifted young talent who brings an injection of energy into the side.

Sanchez has got fantastic technical abilities and Everton can provide him with an ideal platform to take his game to the next level.

In other Everton news, the Blues want to sign this Europa League attacker with a ‘Very low’ exit fee.
