Fenerbahce want to sign Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin
Fenerbahce have placed Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin at the top of their January transfer wishlist, according to Turkish news outlet Sabah.
It is claimed that the 26-year-old is “first on the list” with the Europa League outfit’s scouts taking action after a request from their Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira.
Gbamin has made just one appearance for Everton this season, against Huddersfield Town in the League Cup during August, while he has made the bench for three Premier League games.

Get rid
Gbamin’s two-year spell on Merseyside has been an unmitigated disaster so far.
He arrived at Goodison Park for a mammoth £25million fee in 2019 [BBC] after an impressive 31-game Bundesliga campaign in 2018/19 with Mainz, but he has played just three times as injuries have cruelly struck down the Ivory Coast international.
While there may be sympathy with him over that, his recent conviction for drink-driving has seen public support for him quell [Daily Mail].
Leaving that indiscretion aside, though, Everton can ill-afford to rely on Gbamin and other injury-prone players.

Fabian Delph also fits into that category, and the sooner the club can offload them, the better.
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure are currently starring in the Everton engine room while Rafa Benitez has sufficient cover in Andre Gomes and Tom Davies.
He will surely also target a younger, more attacking alternative in 2022 as well, so Gbamin could be surplus to requirements.
In other Everton news, the Blues want to sign this Europa League attacker with a ‘Very low’ exit fee.
