Besiktas player wants Everton star Allan to join him at Turkish club

Besiktas want to sign Everton midfielder Allan with their manager Sergen Yalcin greenlighting a move, according to Yeni Asir.

The Turkish news outlet claims that Brazilian midfielder Josef de Souza wants Allan, 30, to join him at Besiktas. The two players played together at the start of their careers at Vasco da Gama.

It is understood that although a move for Allan will be “difficult” for Besiktas, Souza will push forward in his attempts to lure his former teammate from Merseyside to Istanbul.

Hands off

It’s a weird approach for a player to seemingly be in charge of transfers somewhere.

Based on this report from Turkey, Brazilian midfielder Souza wants Besiktas to sign Allan and has been given permission by his manager to try and lure the Blues ace to Istanbul.

We’ve never seen anything quite like that before.

Either way, Besiktas cannot be that interested in Allan because if they were, they would be trying harder than simply getting one of their players to put in a good word to his former teammate.

Allan’s been a key player for Rafa Benitez so far this season.

The former Napoli ace has made seven appearances in the Premier League and has played 90 minutes in all but one of them.

We’ve had a superb start to the season, losing only to Aston Villa and picking up points versus Manchester United, Leeds and Brighton.

Let’s hope we can build on that with Allan a vital cog in Benitez’s midfield.

In other Everton news, the Toffees could be set to miss out on a key target.
