Everton Super Fans react as Blues reportedly close in on Aaron Ramsey signing

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton fans have offered a mixed response to a report that Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey is “increasingly likely” to sign for the club.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato claimed on Monday [11/10/21] that the Blues are “ready to welcome him” as the 30-year-old pushes for an exit from Turin in January.

The Wales international has been at Juventus since 2019 but it appears that the ex-Arsenal star could be on his way back to England in 2022.

Goodison News asked our panel of Everton Super Fans for their views on potentially signing Ramsey in January.

Here’s what they had to say…

Right to raise concerns

Ramsey has had his fair share of injury issues over the last few years, stretching back to his Arsenal days.

He’s only made 30-plus league appearances once in the last eight seasons, and he has fallen out of favour at Juventus.

The Cardiff City academy graduate has still shown his ability on the international scene, scoring against the Czech Republic last week, but he would be a risky signing given the mammoth wages he is currently earning in Italy.

This deal could make sense as a loan whereby the Blues only pay a portion of his wages, but it would seem a bizarre move otherwise.

In other Everton news, Simon Jordan has hit back at Jim White in ‘disingenuous slobs’ remark after a broadcaster’s Farhad Moshiri suggestion.
