Amanda Staveley attracted to Newcastle by Rafa Benitez, no chance of reunion for Everton coach
The PiF Capital Consortium knew that it was always unlikely that Rafa Benitez would leave Everton to join Newcastle.
That’s according to the Telegraph who have shared that the Spaniard was heavily involved in attracting Amanda Staveley and her team to the North East club four years ago.
Benitez is set to stay at Goodison Park regardless of the takeover at St James’ Park, as he doesn’t like breaking contracts with employers.
It is suggested that it would be tempting for Benitez to move back to a club where he is still idolised from his spell there.
Going further, the Spaniard is described as far less popular in Merseyside with the Toffees support despite his positive start.
Staveley appears to have had a long-standing interest in Benitez, who would also have much more money to spend at St James’ Park.

Close associate and friend of Benitez, Owen Brown is an advisor at Newcastle, so the answer is known but yet his name has still popped up in conversations.
No chance.
Thankfully, it appears as though he never gave them any snippet of hope of moving away from Merseyside this year.
We can’t take another situation similar to the one that saw Carlo Ancelotti leave to take over at Real Madrid over the summer.
Even with Benitez’ close friend is involved in the conversations, it should make no difference in the future.
As mentioned, the Spaniard clearly values loyalty, and that is what he will be showing the Toffees as we move forward.
It is understandable as to why there would be nerves around the club, but with confidence, we don’t expect anything to happen with this one.
