Predicted Everton XI v West Ham - Coleman to return
Rafa Benitez provided an injury update on Friday afternoon ahead of the Everton v West Ham clash on Sunday.
In his presser, per The Liverpool Echo, he ruled out Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes.
This would mean that Salomon Rondon is likely to continues leading the line and Demarai Gray could play in behind him.
However, Everton will have Seamus Coleman’s services to count on for the clash against West Ham on Sunday.
The Toffees captain suffered an injury during the previous international break and hasn’t played a game for the club since the win against Burnley over a month ago.
However, Benitez confirmed, via The Athletic, that Coleman, along with Lucas Digne and Alex Iwobi are in training ahead of the West Ham clash.
He said, “Alex Iwobi was training and (so were) Digne and Coleman – that is good news for us – they have started training with the team.”
Regarding Yerry Mina who is on international duty for Colombia, Benitez said, “Hopefully he will be here and available.”
However, given the fact that Mina’s game finished in the early hours of Friday morning, he probably would have missed the training on that day and would have just one session ahead of the game.
Given Coleman’s availability, we see Benitez not starting Mina here and he could go for Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane starting at the heart of the defence for them.
Digne, who was a doubt, has been ruled fit, which would mean he starts in his preferred left-back position.
In goal, Jordan Pickford is the obvious option and will retain his place unless he suffers a last-minute injury.
The other change will be on the left flank, where the fit-again Iwobi will come in for Anthony Gordon, who started the game against Manchester United.
Apart from these two changes, we do not see Benitez altering his squad any further for the Hammers clash.
