Danny Donachie leaves Everton
Danny Donachie has left Everton after Rafael Benitez conducted a review into injuries at the club.
The Athletic report that the Toffees’ head of medical services has been relieved of his duties and is currently on leave as the club prepare to formally announce his departure.
In his place, Benitez has already added two new members of staff who both worked with him at Newcastle United as the Spaniard looks to get to the bottom of the club’s injury woes.

Decisive action from Benitez.
The Spaniard was apparently concerned at the injuries suffered by Andre Gomes and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and he has wasted no time in making a change.
However, other members of the medical team have also had their roles changed and downgraded in the clearest sign yet that the Spaniard has had enough of the club’s injury problems.

Donachie was at the club for 14 years, but there is no room for sympathy in this game, and if he wasn’t the right man, then it is correct that he is moved on.
However, he was a popular person at Finch Farm, and it should be stressed that he hasn’t been moved on because he wasn’t good at his job.
This is simply Benitez trying to make his mark on the club, which is great to see, and you would expect other changes to follow.
It is clear that the club’s injury record can’t go on and Benitez has decided that this is the way forward, so it will be intriguing to see what happens.
