Sam Allardyce showers praise on Everton right-back Seamus Coleman
Sam Allardyce has revealed he would sign Everton right-back Seamus Coleman were he in charge of Newcastle United.
The St. James’ Park currently have the wealthiest owners on the planet, and they will be splashing the cash in a bid to turn the Magpies into domestic and continental heavyweights.
The former Toffees boss was tasked with assembling a team for Newcastle on Football Manager on a £200million budget, and the 33-year-old made it to his list and was signed for £18.5million.
Allardyce told SportBible: “He was a great captain. In terms of winning, you need players with character and Seamus brings that.
“He means so much to a dressing room. He would hold it together and speak his mind, as well as bring enthusiasm and quality to the pitch. It’s not just what he brings as a player, but what he’d bring to unite the team. He’s not frightened of telling the lads that they might not be doing their job correctly either.
“You need certain mentalities from each role as well as abilities. He is the full package.”

Coleman is hardly in the news these days, but his experience has surely benefited new boss Rafa Benitez, and most managers would love to have such a player in their squad.
He has neither assisted nor scored a goal in eight league appearances this term, but his influence in the team and dressing room cannot be overemphasised.
Coleman’s leadership on the pitch comes in handy, and Everton would be doing much better if every player had his type of mentality.
Despite his age and little contributions when it comes to goals and assists, he remains first-choice, and it is not hard to see why.
With over 300 Premier League games for the Blues, Coleman has remained a faithful and reliable servant over a decade, and getting such a calibre of player could be tough for the club going forward.
Benitez wants to guide them into Europe, and he needs players with elite mentality to get it done.
