Everton are expecting defender Yerry Mina to return from injury for the Brentford game this Sunday in the Premier League, per the Liverpool Echo.

The Colombian has been missing in action since the October international break and the Toffees have struggled in his absence.

He is understood to be out with a hamstring injury, but he has now been put in contention for the game, which is a huge boost.

Will he start?

Rafa Benitez needs a bolt from the blue to get his team's performances back on track.

When he had a fully fit squad, the Toffees were delivering the results, but in his absence, things have suddenly gone sour.

They're struggling to find the right system and set of players and a lot of that is to do with the lack of organisation.

Mina, when fit, is a guaranteed starter so it remains to be seen whether Benitez throws him straight back in.

Ideally, we're likely to see him on the bench and maybe come on for Michael Keane in the second half.

It goes without saying that the Toffees have missed him a great deal and his welcome is going to be something that the Spaniard will cherish.

Hopefully, Mina's return can spark Everton's resurgence and get them back to the top half for starters.
