Kevin Campbell react to Everton suspension for Richarlison
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has reacted to Everton striker Richarlison picking up a one-game suspension after his fifth yellow card of the season.
The former Toffees striker, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, has insisted it is one of those things that is an unfortunate blow for the club.
The Brazilian will miss the Premier League clash against Brentford this weekend, leaving Rafa Benitez with a selection headache.
“Obviously he was racking them up earlier in the season,” he told Goodison News.
“One thing about Richarlison, he’s not afraid to put his foot in, he will fight in there. Obviously, that has caught up with him in the Man City game where he put his foot in and he caught the defender.
“It happens, and it’s one of those things – get it out of the way, it’s one game and you’re back to square one. Unfortunately for Everton, it’s Richarlison’s turn.”
There is a real issue building in the Toffees squad.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains out injured, and Demarai Gray joined the medical room after that defeat at Manchester City.
Salomon Rondon is now all-but-guaranteed against Brentford, and that is something that will leave most Toffees fans fuming.
The Venezuelan has not hit the ground running and needs to find the back of the net if he is going to get the fans back on his side.
In other Everton news, Campbell was blown away by one Toffees man after what he did last week.
