Darren Bent: Rafa Benitez not facing imminent sack at Everton
Darren Bent has predicted that Rafa Benitez is not facing the imminent sack at Everton as their poor run continues.
The Toffees lost once again in the Premier League over the weekend, this time at the hands of Brentford in that 1-0 defeat.
Bent labelled the current form at Goodison Park as “horrendous” and insisted that patience is really wearing thin on Merseyside.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning, Bent made the prediction on the future of Rafa as patience wears thin.
“I don’t know if he’s going to be axed, but he’s on horrendous form,” he said.
“The game against Brentford, they weren’t good at all. Not won in six or seven games, but Rafa, I still think he’s got a little time in the bank.
“I think the supporters’ patience is wearing thin. They’ve not been good enough.”
Ally McCoist responded and was clearly shocked that many are tipping Benitez for the sack this early into his Everton career.
“You’re not cutting him any slack at all? They’ve got injuries, massive.”

Excuses?
Yes, the injuries have been bad, but that is no excuse.
Even when defeat happens, it is sometimes acceptable when the side have given their all and have pushed for every last minute but may have just been struck by some bad luck.
At this moment in time, we can’t even see that the effort is there in this squad, who simply look clueless as each game passes.
Unfortunately, it isn’t going to get any easier either with Liverpool and Arsenal on the immediate horizon.
Bent may be right that it won’t come imminently, but if after Christmas the club are still sitting dangerously above the relegation, a decision may need to be made.
