Kevin Campbell says Rafa Benitez needs more time at Everton
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has suggested that Rafa Benitez needs to be given more time to turn it around despite a poor run of results.
The former Toffees striker feels that the Spaniard should look to strengthen the squad and bring players of his own choice.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell has revealed that Benitez must be backed in the transfer window.
He said: “I think Rafa Benitez needs a result but most of all he needs the window.
“He needs to be able to strengthen the squad the way he wants to.

“He hasn’t had that luxury so far.”
The Toffees are really struggling at the moment. They have now failed to win in their last eight games in the Premier League, and Benitez’s long-term future is under scrutiny.
Everton fans have vented their frustration in recent games, with angry supporters chanting “sack the board” against Liverpool.
The message is very loud and clear – this is simply not acceptable.
Obviously, the squad is lacking in-depth, and Benitez is missing some key players as well, but the manager hasn’t got the best out of his squad.
Benitez spent less than £2million in transfer fees in the summer transfer window, and major reinforcement is needed.
Will he be given time till January? If results do not go in their way in the next few games, Benitez may struggle to keep his job at Goodison Park.
