Guillem Balague fires shots at Everton fans over Richarlison outrage v Crystal Palace

Guillem Balague has taken aim at Everton fans for their outrage over Richarlison being dragged off against Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian was replaced in the second-half by Salomon Rondon in the 3-1 defeat at Selhurst Park, much to the dismay of fans.

The Venezuelan did go on to score, but Benitez refused to explain his thinking behind taking off one of his most influential players.

Writing on his personal Twitter account last night (13th December) Balague took aim at those complaining over the weekend.

“How about if Richarlison was injured and his substitution was considered at HT and ended up playing as much as was recommended?” he said.

“Generally if something looks very strange it normally means something we don’t know about. But that shouldn’t stop you moaning.”

Not another one.

We couldn’t deal with another injury, not given the issues running through our squad at this moment in time.

Given how angry Richarlison was to be taken off, we doubt that it was an injury that led to his withdrawal at Selhurst Park.

The easiest way to deal with this would have been to come out and explain his reasoning, but Benitez appeared to hide away and look for excuses.

Even the fact that Rondon scored wasn’t used, he could have even shared that he wanted more physicality rather than the pace in the final third.

Either way, it wasn’t a good look for the boss while the pressure was rising around him and it looks as though the likes of Balague are here to fight in his corner for no apparent reason.
