Juventus want to sign Lucas Digne and could allow Everton to sign Arthur
Juventus want to sell midfielder Arthur and they also want to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne, according to a new report.
Sport Mediaset claim that the Old Lady could include the former Barcelona midfielder in a player swap deal for Digne as they look to replace Alex Sandro.
Arthur’s move to Italy hasn’t really worked out, and he has only made nine appearances this season for Juve.
Therefore, you can see why they want to let him go, and given Digne’s situation, it is a move that makes sense.
Could Arthur join the Toffees?
The 25-year-old has played for two of the world’s top football clubs and has made 21 appearances for Brazil, so he has the talent.
He has even been described as “incredible” by Thomas Vermaelen in the past [Football Espana].
However, there have been question marks over his discipline and attitude in the past, so do the Toffees really need a potential trouble-maker given their situation [Daily Mail]?
You would have to say that they don’t, but Arthur could be a fantastic signing if Rafael Benitez could get him on board.
You don’t play for either Juventus or Barcelona if you are a poor player, so can Benitez be the man to get the best out of Arthur?
Well, if Juve and the Toffees can arrange a swap deal, we might just find out.
So, we will be watching on patiently to see if anything comes of this in January or if it was all just talk.
In other Everton news, Newcastle United want to sign Digne in January.
