Stan Collymore: Everton should replace Rafa Benitez with Sean Dyche

Stan Collymore has suggested that Everton should look at replacing Rafa Benitez with Burnley manager Sean Dyche.

The Spaniard is under real pressure at Goodison Park after yet another defeat in the Premier League, this time against Brighton.

Collymore insisted that Dyche may have plateaued at Burnley, and would bring back some much-needed honesty and hard graft for the Toffees.

Writing in his column for the print edition of The Mirror this morning (04/01), Collymore posed an interesting question.

“How about Sean Dyche for Everton?” he said.

“Rafa Benitez is under increasing pressure after Sunday’s 3-2 home defeat by Brighton. And Dyche may have plateaued at Burnley.

“He would undoubtedly bring basics, pride and passion back to Everton, a club that desperately needs some honesty and graft, which he’d give them for sure.”

Going nowhere.

The last thing that Farhad Moshiri is going to do at Goodison Park right now, is sack Benitez, regardless of form.

The Spaniard has been backed heavily in the transfer window already, with Nathan Patterson set to follow Vitaliy Mykolenko for fees set to rise above £30million.

Why would Moshiri do that if he was planning to kick Benitez out?

Dyche is certainly an interesting one, as he would demand that hard-working honesty that we have been missing for years as a minimum.

Having said that, his speciality is keeping clubs in the Premier League and we are worth more than that and need to be pushing for European football as a minimum.

Given Burnley are languishing low in the table and have just been battered by Leeds, we’re not sure this would be a smart move.
