Kevin Campbell: Everton are in trouble after 3-2 defeat v Brighton

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Everton are in real “trouble” after their 3-2 defeat against Brighton this week.

The ex-Toffees talisman has been left fearful with something seriously lacking under Rafa Benitez at this moment in time.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin returned from injury to only miss a penalty, with Campbell believing the luck of the club simply rubbed off on him.

“Everton’s luck is rubbing off on him as well,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“They haven’t played for a while and they looked rusty, obviously Brighton have played and they deserved to win the game.

“Everton fought hard but it wasn’t enough, something is lacking, you win one game out of 12 and they are in trouble at the moment.”

Benitez and his squad can make as many excuses as they want, but it is very clear that nothing is working at this moment in time.

Farhad Moshiri has backed the Spaniard heavily already this month, meaning there are no excuses to be made.

These new signings really need to hand the squad a boost right now, starting with the FA Cup clash at Hull, where a big win could be a major catalyst for the form in the Premier League.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t get any worst.
