Quickly done.
Everyone has said that this deal had nothing to do with Lucas Digne going the other way, but it is hard not to imagine that.
Rafa Benitez has got rid of one player that he didn’t want at the club, but the arrival of El Ghazi may soften that blow with attacking reinforcements needed.
The Toffees have struggled massively in the final third, with injuries ravaging their options, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison missing.
El Ghazi can start against Norwich on Saturday, and it will be very interesting to see if he will be thrown into the deep end with a lack of training.
Benitez has had success with the likes of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend out wide, so they are more likely to start.
Our new signing will surely be raring to get onto the pitch at Carrow Road, though, let’s hope he makes a big impact.
