Everton sign Anwar El Ghazi, can make debut v Norwich City - Kaveh Solhekol
Everton have signed Anwar El Ghazi on loan from Aston Villa in the past hour (January 13th) as their third signing.
Kaveh Solhekol shared the major news live on Sky Sports before it was confirmed on their social media accounts.
The Sky reporter also reported that the Dutch winger can make his debut in the Premier League clash against Norwich.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show this evening (13 January), Solhekol shared the major news live-on-air.
“Everton have signed Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa,” he said.
“He can play for them in their game against Norwich at the weekend.”
Everyone has said that this deal had nothing to do with Lucas Digne going the other way, but it is hard not to imagine that.
Rafa Benitez has got rid of one player that he didn’t want at the club, but the arrival of El Ghazi may soften that blow with attacking reinforcements needed.
The Toffees have struggled massively in the final third, with injuries ravaging their options, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison missing.
El Ghazi can start against Norwich on Saturday, and it will be very interesting to see if he will be thrown into the deep end with a lack of training.
Benitez has had success with the likes of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend out wide, so they are more likely to start.
Our new signing will surely be raring to get onto the pitch at Carrow Road, though, let’s hope he makes a big impact.
