Permanent fee outlined for Everton with option to buy El Ghazi - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Everton have the permanent option to sign Anwar El Ghazi after his loan move from Aston Villa was confirmed.

The option to buy the Netherlands international is included in the deal but not mandatory according to the Sky Italy reporter.

The loan deal comes as Lucas Digne goes in the opposite direction, to Villa Park, with an £8.4million clause included for El Ghazi.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Romano said: “Official and confirmed.

“Anwar El Ghazi joins Everton on loan from Aston Villa, deal sealed and now announced.

“Buy option will be regularly included as reported yesterday – not mandatory, around €10m (£8.4m).”

Bizarre

Thankfully, this is only a loan deal. On first glance at Everton’s squad, it doesn’t look as if El Ghazi is a necessary addition.

We have an abundance of wingers readily available and could probably do with squad depth in other areas.

There are obvious positives to the move though. El Ghazi is a tried and tested Premier League player. He will need no time at all to adjust to life in the Premier league and will only have to get used to his new Everton teammates.

Having another experienced player amongst the squad will do no harm. The Blues have struggled with the fitness of their players so making their squad more robust is something that can’t be turned down.

Hopefully this deal doesn’t halt the impressive progress made by local lad, Anthony Gordon. The starlet was just making his name in the first team and hopefully he continues to be backed with El Ghazi being used for fresh legs and rotation.
