Kevin Campbell: Everton had to do business to sign Anwar El Ghazi
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has hailed Everton for their business to sign Anwar El Ghazi this week on loan from Aston Villa.
The ex-Toffees talisman insisted it wasn’t rocket science what needs doing at Goodison Park, with the squad needing to be strengthened.
El Ghazi can make his debut today against Norwich, and the winger has impressed Campbell with his eye for goal in the past.
“He’s quite productive at times,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“He knows where the goal is. Listen. if that’s what it takes and you can start shaping the squad differently, that’s what you do.
“It’s not rocket science, Benitez has to see players who he thinks can come in and do a job to help that squad.
“If it means you move on a player to Villa to bring a player in, that’s what you do.”
El Ghazi will likely start on the bench against Norwich.
Rafa Benitez has had struggles in the final third with goalscoring options given the numerous injuries suffered.
Thankfully, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have returned now joining the likes of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend.
That means the new signing adds another option, and Benitez will have him to call upon from the bench this afternoon at Carrow Road.
