‘Mistakes’ – Kia Joorabchian spotted in Everton directors box – journo

Kia Joorabchian was spotted in Everton owner Farhad Moshiri’s director’s box at Goodison Park on Saturday (January 22).

The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa in Duncan Ferguson’s first game back as interim manager.

Joorabchian’s presence was enough to unsettle Toffees as the club hunts for a new manager to replace Rafa Benitez.

“It was a move that suggested, despite the hopes of Blues supporters, that there is no great appetite from those at the top at Everton to change how things are run.” Said Liverpool Echo Journalist, Connor O’Neill.

“Moshiri and the club’s board never seem to learn from their previous mistakes, and Everton’s next Premier League game at Newcastle United is absolutely huge.”

Same old story

When Carlo Ancelotti departed, the next Everton manager was vital in terms of turning the club around.

Not even a season later, the Blues are in the same sorry state of affairs as they look to replace Benitez.

Everton

This will be a timeless issue at Everton as long as Farhad Moshiri and co continue to make the footballing decisions at the club.

Only at this club is it acceptable for owners to make footballing decisions. Moshiri is a businessman and despite him and his friends having a huge amount of wealth to invest in the game, they have very little expert knowledge.

It is clear to see the problem lies from how the club is run from the top but Joorabchian’s fearless gallivanting in the director’s box on the weekend shows they either don’t care or don’t know they are the ones ruining the club.

Things need to change at the club but unfortunately, that doesn’t look like happening any time soon with the board never seeming to learn.
