Frank Lampard named obvious choice for Everton job

Frank Lampard has been named as the obvious choice for the Everton job, according to Telegraph journalist Matt Law.

The London-based reporter has claimed that he is the choice that the fans would be able to get behind.

This comes after the supporters protested the imminent appointment of Vitor Pereira and iterated their support for Lampard. [Sky Sports]

Via his personal Twitter account, Law wrote, “Sure I’ll get stick on Twitter for this but surely Lampard is the obvious choice for Everton.

“Fans seem to want him, track record in English football, can communicate ideas quickly + make instant impact.”

“Not only proved he can use youth but has also made good transfer decisions.”

Can do better

Sure, if the two options are Lampard or Pereira, then the former wins hands down.

However, these are not the only two managers in world football who would join Everton.

The club needs to be ambitious and try tempting managers from other clubs, for example, Graham Potter.

Giving him a choice to make is the most they can do and then it’s down to the Brighton boss.

Aston Villa knew they wanted Steven Gerrard and approached Rangers to get him out of there.

There’s no reason why Everton can’t do something similar as it seems like they’re just going for whoever is available, which is no way to guarantee success.
