Dele Alli shares what he needs for success at Everton

Dele Alli has shared why he believes he will be successful at Everton.

The Blues signed Alli from Spurs late on deadline day with the 25-year-old increasingly out of favour in north London.

Alli admitted he needs to feel ‘wanted’ by his club, something he felt during the negotiations to join the Toffees.

“I can learn so much from him,” Alli said of Lampard as per the Mirror.

“I will speak to him about that and the way he fought on the pitch and what he did to make the most of his talent.

“I am very ambitious and passionate, so feeling that from the manager drives you on to want to do well for not only them but the whole club.

“Especially as an attacking and creative player, you want to know you can express yourself and bring excitement to the game, with and without the ball.

And Alli said: “As a player, the main thing is to feel wanted,” he said. “The owner Mr Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright were the first people I spoke to. I felt very comfortable and confident and wanted by them.

Needs loving

Alli is clearly a very emotional footballer who needs to feel loved and appreciated to get the very best out of him.

He threw a dig at Spurs in his departing message indicating he hadn’t felt the support of a manager since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019.

To make matters worse, the Argentine’s predecessors adopted a completely opposite approach in terms of player management and tactical set up which added to the decline in the England internationals career as it stands.

Everton are embarking on a new journey under a new manager who will be keen to get the fans and more importantly the players on board which will surely help the former Tottenham player.

He seems to have a great relationship with Lampard already and with the pair being very similar in how they play, the new Blues boss could take Alli under his wing in order to get the best out of him.

Things have been hostile at the club for a long time but that must change as the club looks to enter a new era.
