Gary Lineker blown away during Everton v Manchester City
Gary Lineker was pleased with the Everton and Manchester City supporters for their show of solidarity against Ukraine on Saturday evening.
The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Citizens but that was far from the main talking point.
Vitaliy Mykolenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko, two Ukrainians, were certainly shown a tremendous amount of respect by both sets of fans at Goodison Park.
Via his personal Twitter account, Lineker wrote, “Amazing and lovely show of support to Ukraine at Goodison. Incredibly poignant.”

Some things are beyond football and the petty rivalry between supporters.
At Goodison Park, both sets of fans proved just that with their show of solidarity for Ukraine.
It was a fantastic atmosphere and anyone at the stadium will remember that day for years to come.
While they would have wanted Everton to come away with a result, they knew that it was only the second most important thing on the day.

Hopefully, Frank Lampard’s men pick up the positives from that encounter and focus on where they need to improve before they get sucked into a relegation dog fight.
There are players in this Toffees side capable of getting the job done and Lampard may just be the motivator they need who can help take their game to the next level.
