Richard Keys slams Chris Kavanagh for decision in Everton v Manchester City
Richard Keys has compared the decision that won Manchester City the game against Everton on Saturday night to a “scandal”.
He has slammed English referee Chris Kavanagh for making one of the worst decisions he’s ever seen.
The game looked like it was heading for a draw before a VAR decision in City’s favour saw them winning it 1-0.

On his personal blog, Keys wrote, “Everton were mugged off by the most inept decision I’ve seen all season – and that’s saying something. There are plenty of VAR candidates.
“What didn’t Chris Kavanagh see that the rest of the world did? It’s a scandal that VAR has the final call on these decisions. I’ve told you before – that’s how Mike Riley wants it. It’s wrong. It’s scandalously wrong.”
Spot on
There’s no justifying that silly decision made by VAR and Kavanagh on Saturday night.
Everton are in a relegation battle and every point matters dearly.

If the Toffees go down by the solitary point or on goal difference, fans will not forget about this decision against Manchester City.
Psychologically too, getting a point against the league leaders would do wonders for the morale in the dressing room.
Hopefully, Frank Lampard keeps the spirits high behind the scenes as he’s clearly got a huge job to do from now until the end of the season.
