Everton face losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison this summer

Frank Lampard could have to start next season without two of his biggest Everton assets as the club look to resolve sponsorship problems, according to The Telegraph.

The uncertainty has risen through billionaire Alisher Usmanov who had sponsored the football club until Russia’s invasion of Ukraine left the Toffees no choice but to cut ties due to his close connections to Vladimir Putin.

Usmanov has also had his assets frozen but his wealth was due to play a major part in funding the new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium that is currently under construction.

The Telegraph claim that Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison will be at the top of rival Premier League clubs’ lists if Everton are forced to sell players in order to raise funds for their new home.

Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United are the named clubs in England chasing Calvert-Lewin although there is also reported interest from the Bundesliga.

The Telegraph say that Richarlison could go for more than £50million while goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is being eyed by Tottenham to replace Hugo Lloris.

One, not all

Losing one of these players wouldn’t be too detrimental to their plans even if Lampard would prefer to keep them all around if he has the chance to.

Calvert-Lewin might be the biggest miss as we have seen his lengthy spell on the sidelines this campaign coincides with The Toffees’ slide down the league table.

But losing both him and Richarlison could be a disaster for Lampard and replacing his two star attackers on a shoestring budget will be a nye on an impossible task.

Anthony Gordon has come to the forefront of Everton supporters’ minds recently with starring roles in their latest wins but he can’t lead an attack by himself.

Everton simply must keep hold of either one of Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison because they will be going straight down to the Championship if they don’t.
