Alan Myers: Everton unwilling to put ballpark figure on Russian-based sponsorships

Everton are set to suffer a ‘significant’ financial hit, according to Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers.

They decided to end their partnerships with the Russian based companies and are unwilling to put a ballpark figure on how much their losses account for.

Due to Farhad Moshiri’s £500million investment, they already find themselves in a precarious financial situation.

Myers wrote, “With Everton already in a ‘prudent’ financial climate due to indifferent recruitment within the £500million Moshiri has invested in his time at the club, this loss of income will impact the business, of that there is little doubt.

“Everton, not unexpectedly, would not put a ballpark figure to their Russian-based sponsorship value, but together with the Cazoo main partner deal, it is hugely significant in commercial terms.”

Tough times

These certainly are difficult times for Everton, their shareholders as well as their fans.

Moshiri held good relations with Alisher Usmanov but is now compelled to sever all ties with him.

It is never good for a football club to lose its sponsors, especially when they’re in a situation like Everton.

They’ve already found themselves on the wrong side of FFP and this only makes things worse for them.

Hopefully, the club are looking at other revenue streams to mitigate their losses in the short term.

This could also have a significant impact on their new stadium.
