Everton ace Richarlison wanted by Arsenal, senior figure is ‘huge fan’

Everton could face losing one of their star players this summer as Brazilian forward Richarlison attracts interest from Arsenal, according to Planet Sport.

The 24-year-old joined the Toffees for £50million back in 2018 from Watford and has become a fan favourite at Goodison Park since.

But this season’s nightmare form has seen interest spike in the Brazilian and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are the club seemingly most keen right now.

“The Brazilian is brilliant on his day and Arsenal sporting chief Edu is understood to be a huge fan,” Planet Sport report.

“Richarlison moving to the Emirates was seen as a likely option by the player’s agents.

“A target for Paris Saint-Germain in January, it won’t be an easy pick-up for the Gunners but he is certainly one of the most intriguing.”

They also report that fellow Evertonian Dominic Calvert-Lewin could make his way to the Emirates although a double swoop seems far less likely at this early stage.

Only lose one

Everton can still compete in the Premier League if they lose just one of Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison.

There have been times when either has been injured and the form hasn’t dramatically fallen away until this season when both have been out at the same time far too often for any supporters’ liking.

Should both leave this summer for pastures new, Frank Lampard may be left at the wheel of an unsaveable sinking ship that would see the Toffees drop into the Championship.

That is, of course, if he can steer them to safety this time around as dropping down to the second tier for next season would almost certainly see both leave Goodison Park in a rapid fashion.

The Brazilian is maybe the more crucial of the two to keep given his versatility in playing as the central striker or out wide that has helped win the Toffees crucial points in the past and will do again if he is held onto.

In other Everton news, the club want to sign this South American midfielder who is free to leave his current club.
