Dan Purdy makes Everton return to become Scouting and Operations Manager

Dan Purdy has reportedly sealed his Everton return and has become the new Scouting and Operations Manager.

According to Training Ground Guru, he has been persuaded by new Director of Football Kevin Thelwell who was appointed in February.

Purdy was promoted to this same position in 2019 by Marcel Brands and walked out of the door with the then Director of Football in December 2021.

March 21 was his first day back at the club and he has already begun planning for the future at Goodison Park.

Good move?

Purdy has been at the club longer than Brands was so it’s not like he was brought to Everton because of him.

He’s been at the club since 2013 when he first started off as a Performance Analyst Intern and rising to Technical Scout and then Technical Scouting Co-ordinator for the first team.

This career projection highlights that he was given top roles based on merit and not because he had allies at the peak of the food chain.

If Thelwell thinks that his return is the right move then it possibly should be.

There are people at the club who have worked with Purdy and surely would’ve vouched for his work ethic and hopefully, his return should see the club before better in the transfer market.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
