Michael Owen predicts result of Everton clash v West Ham United

Michael Owen has backed Everton to crash to yet another Premier League defeat against West Ham on Sunday afternoon.

The former Liverpool man has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the home side with the away form of the Toffees shocking at best.

It has been described as a “huge” week for West Ham, but Frank Lampard will be relaying that message to his own side as well.

Writing in his latest round of Bet Victor predictions, Owen didn’t hold out much hope for the Toffees this weekend.

“What a huge week this is for West Ham and for David Moyes personally,” he wrote. “They’ve got Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday but first up it’s Everton.

“They’ll want to go into the game on Thursday in a good mindset, I can see a win here.

“Everton’s away form just keeps getting worse. They didn’t start badly against Palace in the FA Cup, but they collapsed and conceded some poor goals.

“The next two are away, here against West Ham and then to Burnley, they need to improve quickly – I fancy West Ham. 2-0.”

Huge.

Forget about the week that West Ham have ahead of them, this is all about Everton and these two games coming.

The trip to the London Stadium is followed up by the game with Burnley, a week that could literally make or break our entire season.

Losing both of those and relegation will become more than just a fear, it will be much closer to being a reality.

Lampard will be concentrating more on the win over Newcastle than the embarrassing defeat against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

The Premier League is the be-all and end-all right now and picking up points consistently is key between now and the end of the season.
