Michael Owen shares Everton relegation view after Saturday games

Michael Owen believes that this weekend was great for Everton in their fight against Premier League relegation.

Norwich, Burnley and Watford all dropped points on Saturday which meant that the Toffees could extend their lead with a win in this gameweek.

They take on West Ham on Sunday (April 3) and will be looking to pick up three points to build a considerable lead from the relegation zone.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ show, Owen said, “Great day for Everton but they’ve got to start capitalising now.”

Must win

While the Hammers have had a decent Premier League season, that does not mean they’re not there for the taking.

They do not have too much to fight for in the league as their focus will be on the Europa League.

This is the perfect time to take them on and an early goal for Frank Lampard’s men could make a world of difference.

However, recent performances show that expecting those kinds of results is a tad far fetched.

Lampard knows that his job is on the line and thus far, he has done very little to show why he should be in charge next season.

It was never an easy job, to begin with, but it seems like the pressure is already getting to him, which is not a great place to be in.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
