Stephen Warnock destroys Frank Lampard over Everton signing Dele Alli live on Sky Sports
Stephen Warnock has emptied both barrels on Frank Lampard and Everton for signing Dele Alli in the January window.
The England international sat on the bench again in the 2-1 loss at West Ham on Sunday, even after Donny Van de Beek dropped out in the warm-up.
Mason Holgate was pushed into midfield instead, something Warnock was left gobsmacked at, questioning what Alli must be doing in training.
Speaking live on Sky Sports on Monday [04 April], as shared on Twitter, Warnock emptied both barrels on Lampard.
“Why did you buy Dele Alli?” he said. “What is Dele Alli doing at that football club?
“What’s Dele Alli thinking, stood on the sidelines? What must he be doing in training to not be getting a place in that team, whether it’s attitude, whether it’s fitness, whether it’s confidence, as an Everton fan, I’d be asking why you’re playing Holgate in midfield?
“This is bizarre for me. That’s a huge problem.”
Shocking.
Alli is a waste of space at this club right now, but it is hard to know who is to blame, with everything going so wrong.
Lampard hasn’t given him the chance, and his team selection has been shocking in recent weeks so he must shoulder some blame.
But, if Alli is training with a poor attitude and fitness, why should he be given the chance to prove himself?
It is getting to the stage where we will have nothing to lose and Alli will be given the chance to start, let’s hope he is ready.
If not, we can get rid in the summer without having paid a single penny to Spurs, another hope will be that we’re not in the Championship when that time comes.
