Peter Reid was pleased with the efforts of Everton as they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees were on the brink of relegation as morale was at an all-time low after their 3-2 defeat against Burnley.
However, they managed to get the job done and defended efficiently to pick up the three points.

Everton did not start the game on the front foot, as many expected.
United had the better players and were expecting to dominate possession and create the majority of the chances.
Frank Lampard knew that and asked his players to be compact and give nothing away at the back.
Against Burnley, they had to push the initiative and score goals, but here they were happy to play on the counter attack.
When they’ve got players like Anthony Gordon who can turn things around in the blink of an eye, it makes sense for them to play with that approach.
It paid off and they picked up three points – leaving Lampard the happiest man on Merseyside as his job appeared to be on the line before the game.
