Sam Allardyce not lined up for Everton role despite horror form – Sky Sports

Rumours linking Sam Allardyce with a return to Everton this season are wide of the mark, according to Sky Sports.

Frank Lampard is currently being backed by the Toffees board, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be sacked between now and the end of the season.

Everton are now currently one point above the relegation zone after crashing to defeat against Burnley this week.

Writing in their latest report, Alan Myers and Rob Dorsett shared if the well-known relegation saviour is lined up.

“Rumours about a possible return for Sam Allardyce are wide of the mark, Sky Sports News has been told,” they wrote.

Please, no.

Is this how bad things have gotten at Goodison Park?

We thought we had left these kinds of names in the past, but it appears as though we are crashing down very quickly compared to being on the rise.

Allardyce is known for coming in late in the Premier League to clubs who are fearful of relegation and saving them, although that hasn’t always worked.

West Brom going down last season was his first relegation from the Premier League and they were shocking to watch, so that should serve as a big warning to Farhad Moshiri and company.

There would surely be outrage if this appointment was made, and all of these noises coming out just show that the Championship next season is now more than just a possibility.

Lampard has to be backed, and if he can pull off some big wins over the likes of Manchester United, Leicester, Chelsea or Liverpool – confidence would be huge.
