View: Dominic Calvert-Lewin stinks in 4/10 – Everton player ratings v Manchester United

Everton pulled off a huge 1-0 win over Manchester United today to ease their Premier League relegation fears.

Frank Lampard made four changes to his side, with experience being favoured in the likes of Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane coming back in.

It was Anthony Gordon who scored the opener though, and that turned out to be the winner in the end at Goodison Park.

Goodison News rated the players out of 10 below…

Jordan Pickford – 9

Wow, once again he stepped up at some big moments. When the defence is letting him down ahead of him, the stopper stands up with some huge saves.

Seamus Coleman – 7

A quiet afternoon for the skipper, but that was all that was needed. Coleman didn’t put a foot wrong after missing the defeat at Burnley.

Michael Keane – 7

Solid enough, there were few occasions where he was exposed and that will have pleased Lampard given the numerous mistakes we have already seen this season against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Everton

Ben Godfrey – 6

The former Norwich man has endured a strange season, and he never really looked comfortable yet again this afternoon without making the headlines negatively.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 10

Man of the Match. The Ukrainian is turning into one hell of a signing, and he is really standing up and setting an example for those around him. Aaron Wan-Bissaka had no answer defensively or going forward against his opposite number.

Allan – 7

The Brazilian was back and the midfield instantly looked more solid, and he didn’t even have to do much more than just sit at the base and throw his presence around. This is the level of performance we need from him more consistently.

Everton

Fabian Delph – 8

Solid. One thing you always get from Delph is reliability, he will never shy away from anything no matter what situation the club is currently in. The midfielder stepped up and showed Abdoulaye Doucoure how it’s done.

Alex Iwobi – 9

Much better from the Nigerian, despite some even calling for him to be dropped out of the side in that midfield. Iwobi showed energy in all thirds, and never stopped running throughout.

Anthony Gordon – 9

This young man is the present and the future of the Toffees. The goal was luck, but he earned that with his tenacity winning the ball back and starting the attack. No one can match Gordon’s non-stop attitude and he is getting his rewards for that.

Richarlison – 7

Magic. The Brazilian has finally been back at his best this week, scoring twice at Burnley and showboating his way around the final third today. If we are to continue this form, the attacker will be critical with this flair.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 4

Not good enough. Of course, we don’t want to be too negative but nothing the striker appears to be doing is working right now. He is not holding the ball up, he’s not putting pressure on the opposition, the confidence just isn’t there – hopefully it comes soon.
