Richard Keys: Even Liverpool fans do not want Everton relegated

Richard Keys believes that even Liverpool fans would not want to see Everton getting relegated from the Premier League.

This admission comes after the Toffees beat the Red Devils on Saturday by a 1-0 scoreline.

With that win, Everton moved further away from the drop zone and now hold a four point cushion over 18th placed Burnley.

Speaking in the aftermath of the game, Keys told BEIN Sports, “Nobody in their right mind wants to see Everton relegated. Nobody.

“Not even the most fervent Liverpool fan. Of course they don’t.

“Why would you?”

They absolutely would

Nothing would make Liverpool fans happier than to see their arch rivals getting relegated.

Sure, they would not have the Merseyside derby in the league anymore, but the bragging rights relegation would give them is unreal.

There’s already a huge divide in the city between red and blue and relegation for one team would certainly see them becoming the laughing stock.

Given Everton’s wage bill, they would have to sell a number of key players – making promotion tougher than it would be.

There’s always the risk of crumbling to expectations in the Championship, as seen with Sunderland, and that would be delightful for the Reds on Merseyside.

Hopefully, the three points against United will alleviate fears and help the Toffees secure Premier League status.
