Chris Sutton calls out Anthony Gordon for so-called dive in Everton win v Manchester United
Chris Sutton has called out Everton star Anthony Gordon for a so-called dive in the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
The winger scored the winner and was brought down in the box after a tangle of legs with Alex Telles in the second half.
Although not a clear intentional foul, it certainly wasn’t a dive with contact made between the two – something Sutton clearly disagreed with.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live last night [10 April], as shared on Twitter, Sutton was not left impressed.
“I think that’s a contender for the simulation game,” he said. “Not flash from Anthony Gordon.
“But the winner of the simulation game this week, Arsenal have won something, they haven’t won any football matches – Bukayo Saka.”
Shocker.
This is poor, even for Sutton’s standards.
It may not have been a penalty, but how on earth he could class that as a dive is shocking analysis from one who is supposed to be one of the best.
Gordon was felled by a tangle of legs, with Telles also falling to the ground, so did the defender dive too?
Unfortunately, we live in a world where if you hit the ground in the box, it is more times than that not classed as a dive.
Thankfully, the officials didn’t see it that way and let the game continue without any uncalled for punishment.
Gordon is the man right now at Goodison Park, and his relentless, non-stop running as well as skill is a nightmare for anyone.
Telles certainly found that out the hard way on Saturday afternoon.
