Everton appoint Kevin Nicholson as coach educator

Everton have reportedly appointed Kevin Nicholson as their coach educator as Kevin Thelwell eschews a new era at Goodison Park.

According to Toffee TV, he will help develop the philosophy of the club and also play a key role in dealing with the academy.

His Twitter profile reveals that he holds a UEFA Pro License is an Everton fan as well.

Toffee TV host Barry Cass said, “Everton have appointed Kevin Nicholson as coach educator with the academy.

“Main responsibility for his job will be leading coaching development for the academy and also aligning and developing the philosophy for the club.

“Obviously Kevin Thelwell is the director of football and he’s putting these things in place.

“Kevin Nicholson is highly-rated in the game and hopefully, we see the academy going from strength to strength.”

Good move?

The culture and philosophy of the club is shambles right now so any change is a welcome one.

We do not know too much about him and he’s not likely to have that much of an impact on the first team.

However, these things begin from the grassroots level and if players are trained with the right mentality at that age, they go on to achieve big things in their professional career.

The academy setup at Finch Farm aids the youngsters well and many have gone on to achieve illustrious careers at Everton and several other clubs.

Hopefully, this move is a step take in the right direction and could lead to silverware down the line.
