Frank Lampard must bin Everton defender Michael Keane v Leicester

Everton will face Leicester City in their next Premier League game, and Frank Lampard will get ten days for his preparation.

The players will get sufficient rest, and Lampard can work with them individually on tactics and other things.

This is also the perfect time for him to reflect on the squad and pick his best team as the Toffees enter the final few games of the season.

With that in mind, Lampard must drop Michael Keane from the side and bring Yerry Mina into the starting line-up.

According to a report from Liverpool Echo, Mina is likely to be fit for the clash against the Foxes, and Lampard could be tempted to draft him straight into the starting line-up.

Mina is a class defender who brings balance and leadership qualities to the side, but his fitness remains a major issue.

Keane and Ben Godfrey were outstanding against Manchester United, where the former looked shaky at the start of the game.

As the game progressed, Keane got better and played his part as Everton registered a crucial 1-0 win.

With Mina back, Lampard must make a bold call and drop Keane from the starting line-up.

Keane has made 27 Premier League appearances this season, managing two goals and two assists. He has been a constant presence at the back but hasn’t always been able to exude confidence.

The problem with Keane is that he is occasionally good. There are games where he looked outstanding, but there have been games as well where his costly mistakes have let his team down.

In fact, Trevor Sinclair recently called him a “liability” on talkSPORT after his error against West Ham.

He lacks consistency and therefore unreliable. Every point is crucial for the Toffees, and they cannot afford to make any silly individual errors.

If Mina is fully fit, Lampard must not hesitate to bring in straight into the first team in place of Keane.
