Everton want to sign Brentford star Christian Eriksen

Everton are reportedly keen on signing Brentford attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen after his recent resurgence in the Premier League.

According to 90Min, the Toffees are looking to offer him a deal at the end of the season when his current one at the Brentford Community Stadium is expiring.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham are all looking into making a swoop for the Denmark international.

Brentford are keen on keeping him and will fight a battle to retain his services, given the growing list of suitors.

Good move?

Eriksen has made the headlines for all the right reasons this year.

After the horrific incident at Euro 2020, many believed that he would not play football again.

However, he returned with a bang for Brentford and also scored his first international goal after his comeback only two minutes after being subbed in.

His “magnificent” comeback has been well documented, but whether or not he’s the right fit for the Toffees is a big question mark.

They do not play with a designated number 10 and he’s not got the legs anymore to play the sort of box to box role he tried to at Spurs.

Unless there’s a change in manager or a change in the system, Eriksen must not be considered this summer.
