View: Donny Van de Beek may as well pack bags and leave Everton for Manchester United now after injury news

Everton fans will have been disappointed once again on Friday as it was confirmed that Donny Van de Beek has picked up another injury.

Frank Lampard confirmed that the Dutchman will miss the huge Merseyside derby against Liverpool on Sunday.

It comes only 24 hours after Erik Ten Hag, Van de Beek’s former manager at Ajax, was appointed at Manchester United.

It has been reported since by The Guardian that Van de Beek will be given a chance at Old Trafford next season.

Lampard shared that the midfielder is currently rehabilitating through his latest injury, meaning he will miss yet another huge game.

With the games running out, it is hard to see where the Manchester United loanee is really going to make a difference in this relegation battle.

Fabian Delph has come in and made a real difference alongside Allan and Alex Iwobi, and that appears to be our main three right now.

Pack your bags?

It is quickly approaching the time when Van de Beek may as well pack his bags and move back to Old Trafford early.

Lampard will not be happy with the developments surrounding the midfielder, and he has not had the influence that we all wanted when he arrived back in January.

Dele Alli showed glimpses of what he can offer finally against Leicester, so hopefully, we get a similar boost with Van de Beek.

The Dutchman is unlikely to start another game imminently with single-figure games left to play this season.

We need to stop making these major transfer mistakes, and Farhad Moshiri will need to learn very quickly moving forward.

Hopefully, we are proven wrong and Van de Beek can have a big impact over the final month of the Premier League.
