West Ham plot summer raid for Everton defender Michael Keane

West Ham are reportedly keen on signing Everton first-team regular Michael Keane in the summer.

According to the Daily Star, the Hammers will look to make an attempt for the 29-year-old if the Toffees get relegated.

David Moyes, who worked with Keane at Manchester United, has been termed a ‘big admirer’ of the defender.

Take him away

Keane has been one of the Toffees’ most inconsistent players this season and if there had been better defenders, he probably would not be playing.

At the start of the campaign, Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina looked like the first two centre-back options.

However, the Englishman was unavailable for the first few games while the Colombian has been injured for a significant number of games this term.

The Toffees do need to sign at least two new defenders this summer and Keane is likely to fall further down the pecking order.

If they’re able to get a decent transfer fee for his services, then it makes sense to cash in on his services.

He’s unlikely to turn things around at Goodison Park and it makes sense for him to continue his career elsewhere for all parties involved.

It remains to be seen if Everton can manage to get a decent fee for the English defender.
