Tom Davies back in Everton training following successful operation

Peripheral Everton figure Tom Davies has been pictured taking part in training as he steps up his comeback efforts from a string of injury problems.

The academy graduate hasn’t played for the Toffees since November and underwent surgery for a hamstring problem at the start of the year with the hopes of rectifying the problem.

After that operation went successfully Davies told the media he would be absent for the rest of the Toffees campaign but this latest update on his fitness from official club media suggest he could have been in a position to help the club in their relegation fight.

Poor Decisions

It’s an argument which has been ridden to death by pundits and fans alike but just how many naive decisions are going to be made before the club learns its lesson.

Of course, we’re not expecting them to be psychic and telepathically predict when Davies could potentially return but it still seems incredibly short-sighted to not have him in the registered squad just in case he was ahead of schedule in his injury comeback.

It’s made even more ludicrous when you see the likes of Cenk Tosun and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin submitted to the Premier League with the pair playing a grand total of 70 minutes of league football between them for the Toffees this season.

Davies for all his injury woes more than doubles that tally with 155 and with Everton’s current predicament who’s to say he couldn’t have made an impact during the run-in.

Gbamin has since gone to CSKA Moscow on loan and the situation compounds the bigger picture of complete mismanagement of the club from top to bottom that could yet culminate in an unthinkable drop out of the top flight.

In other Everton news, Micah Richards has had his say on the club’s chances of Premier League survival.
