View: Tom Davies could save Farhad Moshiri millions after major Everton injury reveal

Everton have been riddled by injuries this season, and it certainly hasn’t helped their causes in the Premier League.

Farhad Moshiri has thrown millions at the current squad, and it hasn’t helped given the shocking lack of depth.

Frank Lampard will be hoping for a boost sooner rather than later, and it looks as though it may have come today.

Tom Davies was pictured back on the training pitches at Finch Farm, with his rehabilitation clearly stepping up a level.

The midfielder admitted that he wouldn’t play again this season, but could an extraordinary turn of events change that?

Either way, Davies is playing for next season to save his career.

Whether in the Championship or Premier League, the midfielder is surely set for a bigger role given how poor that area has been this season.

That would save Moshiri some much-needed millions with the midfield area certainly needing reinforcements.

Saviour?

Given how bad our form has been this season, we may be clutching at straws thinking Davies can turn things around.

Allan has been shocking in recent weeks, but he has had little to no partners alongside him who are out-and-out midfield options.

Davies can do the exact same in covering each blade of grass, but he has that little bit of quality and composure in possession that is missing right now.

If he returned to training today, there is hope he could be back for the final three or four games of this season.

Having him in the side could change our style slightly, and who knows? Keep us in the Premier League, automatically saving millions.

Even not having to sign another midfielder due to his resurgence would save Moshiri millions – no pressure then.
