View: Andre Gomes must be sold in summer, Everton may as well keep him out of Goodison Park

Everton have numerous players on their books that they must look to move on in the upcoming summer window.

Frank Lampard is stuck in the middle of a relegation battle in the Premier League, and these players have to stand up and be counted.

Unfortunately, too many names are not doing that and it is time that we make the move to get rid of them early.

One of the first names to pop up is Andre Gomes.

The Portuguese international has not stood up in this battle and has only been battling his own injury worries.

It was confirmed today [29 April] that Gomes will once again be missing from the squad for the clash against Chelsea this weekend.

We are scratching our heads and trying to work out anything the midfielder has done to justify his big-money contract at Goodison Park.

Lock him out.

What is the point in having Gomes around?

He is wasting huge resources and not giving anything back to the club for that money, it is embarrassing.

The 28-year-old has made only five starts in the Premier League, adding another seven substitute appearances this season.

This is in a year where constant injury problems have plagued the Toffees with the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure out long term.

Where was Gomes when this happened? We need reliable figures to get us out of this trouble and he is the opposite of that.

Tom Davies was pictured back in training this week, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he returned before his fellow midfielder did.

It’s time to move on, inform Gomes of the decision and lock him out of Goodison Park – there is no need for his presence.
