Leon Osman delighted with Richarlison impact against Chelsea
Everton favourite Leon Osman was full of praise for Richarlison after his brilliant display in the Toffee’s win against Chelsea at Goodison Park.
The Brazilian pounced on Cezar Azpilicueta’s mistake to slot a finish past Eduoard Mendy and send the fans into delirium as Frank Lampard’s men picked up a crucial three points in the fight against relegation.
The Toffees importantly now hold their destiny in their own hands and Osman thinks Richarlison has more than played his part.
“People don’t always like Richarlison,” he told BBC Sport (1 May).
“There are mixed reviews on his attitude, but he’s been fantastic today.
“He’s led this Everton line, harried, won a free-kick, scored the opening goal.

“He’s been magnificent.”
Priceless Goal
Richarlison has scored plenty of goals in the blue of Everton but probably none more crucial than the winner he grabbed at Goodison.
Demarai Gray did brilliantly to hassle Azpiligueta and Richarlison kept his cool to slot into the bottom corner past Eduoard Mendy and blow the roof off the famous old stadium.
There is still an awful lot of work to be done and Lampard will know his side are nowhere near out of it yet, but this result will give them real belief and a platform from which to build upon for the Premier League run-in.
Relegation rivals Leeds face a tricky last few games of their own and haven’t stood up to the task in those fixtures, whereas the Toffees can boast victories and clean sheets against Manchester United and now Chelsea in recent weeks.
Keep that sort of form up, and they might just do it.
