Richarlison gives promise to Everton fans after Chelsea victory
Everton forward Richarlison says the club will keep wrestling for Premier League safety after his goal helped the Toffees claim a huge win against Chelsea.
The Brazilian capitalised on a mistake from Cezar Azpilicueta to slot past Edouard Mendy and put safety in the club’s own hands as they moved two points away from Leeds United in 17th place.
And now Richarlison has thanked the fans for their never say die attitude, promising the players will take that mindset into the final fixtures.
“It ain’t over till it’s over,” he posted on his Twitter account (1 May).
“Let’s keep fighting!”

Given the jeopardy of the current situation, you’d have forgiven the players for showing signs of trepidation in the encounter versus Chelsea.
There was nothing of the sort however as they battled tirelessly and harried Thomas Tuchel’s men relentlessly, eventually grabbing their goal after Demarai Gray quickly closed down Azpilicueta and forced his stumble.
It was only one piece of a particularly difficult puzzle for Frank Lampard and his men but if they can show similar application and tenacity in their final games then they must stand a good chance of getting themselves out of their current plight.
Why they couldn’t have done it earlier in the season is anyone’s guess but finally, it feels like they’re taking steps in the right direction.
Keep them same levels for the rest of the season and the impossible suddenly starts to look very doable.
