Mike Parry responds to Piers Morgan as Everton beat Chelsea on Sunday

Mike Parry has seconded Piers Morgan’s praise of Frank Lampard after he guided Everton to an unlikely win against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Toffees went into the game with the odds stacked against them in the relegation battle.

Lampard rallied his players with help from the Goodison Park faithful to mastermind an unlikely win against the current Champions League holders.

At full-time, Morgan wrote on Twitter, “Never underestimate Frank Lampard.”

Parry, an Everton shareholder, responded, “Correcto.”

Staying up?

Lampard was the unlikeliest of heroes on Merseyside after the win.

There was plenty of hostility towards the former Chelsea man before the game.

However, beating his ex club in the manner that he did, certainly won him some brownie points.

Everton are still in the relegation zone but that win will give them a huge amount of confidence.

Everton

Given Leeds United’s run of fixtures, the Toffees will have every reason to be optimistic going into their next few games.

Their fate now remains in their hands as they have a game in hand over Leeds and just a two point margin separating the two.

Everton also have a superior goal difference to Leeds and that’s going to count as a point going into the final few games of the season.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
