View: Farhad Moshiri must hand Everton star Jordan Pickford millions if Premier League safety secured

Farhad Moshiri will have one man to thank if Everton stay in the Premier League beyond this season – Jordan Pickford.

The England international has been sensational in recent weeks, and was the main reason behind the 1-0 win over Chelsea.

Pickford was also inspiring in the win over Manchester United, with his saves worth potentially more than just points.

Moshiri will pocket millions in Premier League and TV revenues should the Toffees avoid relegation over the next month.

The owner has to recognise who has helped that, and Pickford is certainly the main reason, closely followed by Richarlison and Anthony Gordon.

It is unlikely that the squad will have relegation survival bonuses in their contracts given it was never predicted to be a problem at Goodison Park.

Moshiri needs to reward those that have had the biggest say if we do survive, and Pickford is top of that list, with each of his huge saves worth millions in that case.

Time to go.

There is still a job to be done, and Everton are still in the bottom three.

Of course, the ball is now in our court given that we have a game in hand on Burnley and Leeds and are only two points behind them.

We still need to go out and do the business against the likes of Leicester, Watford and Crystal Palace though.

There will be no celebrations yet, but the win over Chelsea felt like a huge stepping stone to survival and you could feel that in Goodison Park.

Pickford will no doubt have to come up with some huge moments between now and the end of the season, but he will be ready for that.

If he does, then Moshiri simply has to part way with some of that major windfall of staying in the Premier League and put it in Pickford’s pockets.
