Michael Ball gushes over Everton support ahead of Chelsea and Leicester City games
Michael Ball has been thrilled by the enthusiasm of the Everton fans ahead of their must-win Premier League games against Chelsea and Leicester City.
The Toffees seemed out for the count a few weeks ago and relegation seemed to be a certainty for them.
However, under Frank Lampard’s tutelage, they have managed to turn things around and now look in a comfortable position.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Ball, a BBC pundit, said, “Everton fans know they are the best but they’ve shown the players and the world over the last couple of games why. Our away form hasn’t been up to scratch this season but after the fans showed up at Finch Farm, the players knew they had to put a performance in and they had to rise their levels.
“I’d never seen anything like the send off the players got at Finch Farm. Normally you only see those kind of receptions when you’re going to Wembley or another cup final where the fans turn out to cheer the team on and wish them well.
“The noise of the fans at the King Power Stadium was unbelievable, probably the best I’ve heard away from home – even when we’ve won things.”

When things have gotten tough for the club, the fans have always been the backbone for them.
Not once have they let them down even though it was visible that they doubted some of the decisions made by Lampard.
Some players may still not be fit enough to wear the jersey, but the fans will never boo them out of Goodison Park.
The players respond to these kinds of things and deliver results like we’ve seen against Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester.
Relegation is not a foregone conclusion but few expected the Toffees to be in this position with three games to go and they seem likely to be in the Premier League next season.
In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the recent weeks.
