Rafa Benitez tweet post Liverpool win over Chelsea proves why he and Everton would never work

Former Everton boss Rafa Benitez congratulated their rivals Liverpool after their win over Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday (May 14).

The Spaniard enjoyed a successful stint at Anfield and is cherished widely by the supporters on the red side of Merseyside.

Things are completely different on the blue half and it came as a shock to many when Farhad Moshiri appointed him in the summer.

After the Liverpool win, he took to Twitter to write, “Congratulations to @liverpool_fc #YNWA.”

This certainly would’ve rubbed salt into the wounds of Everton fans who are sitting through an excruciating relegation battle.

Many believe that if Benitez was not appointed then they would not be in this situation, but those are all hypotheticals.

The fact of the matter is that Moshiri was completely tone deaf when he decided to appoint the Spaniard and the fans cannot forgive him for it.

They made their opinion very clear by protesting loudly and vividly after he was closing in as the Toffees manager.

Given his comments about the club in the past, he should have not even been in contention.

However, Moshiri showed that he does not care about the fans and only his agent friends and the bottom line.

Benitez’s tweets clearly show that he’s a hardcore Liverpool supporter and he probably was not a hundred per cent committed to Everton when he took the job and just saw the move as a way to get his career back on track.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the recent weeks.
